ceruleanmorningsOk, y'all. Yes, I'm slowly working my way through old old content. It's how I like it, sue me haha. The point is, most people aren't doing 5-years-old content (longer than that, but I don't remember exactly when), so when I tried to queue for Garuda EX at like, 12 am last night, let's just say I stayed in queue for a good 50+ min. It was fine, I was leveling and doing other things in the meantime. I honestly did not expect it to pop at all, and then bam! I was actually in a group! Joy of all joys right?
Uh, nope. The group had newbies and a tank that didn't listen to anything people said until our third wipe. Like, we didn't even get to start strat he just ran in and did whatever. It was crazy (and I guess, normal for pugs?). Of course since yours truly actually watched MTQCapture's awesome strat video, and no one else is speaking, I just took over explaining everything. The group is slightly disadvantaged because all our dps except me were melees, in a ridiculously range-favored fight. And nobody could reliably NOT kill the spiny plume (a wipe mechanic, we only barely survived because everyone else is overgeared and we had Echo buff after wiping so many times). But we toiled away for like an hour and miraculously no one left, and we got the kill in the end! It was sorta impressive and sorta pathetic but I had so much fun doing it! (I think I was the only one, though, because I'm sure the rest were very frustrated, except that thick-headed tank haha.) I got 5 kudos (out of 7 people) altogether too! Afterwards I was like shaking from adrenaline and couldn't go to sleep for a while. It's fine. I really should join a competent FC at this point. I think I actually am missing raiding.
And that's a long update on my gaming. You know, like I said, if I start playing FF14 I'm never going to play anything else haha. And I guess that's fine. I mean I'm even paying for an extra retainer because I have so much crap already and I'm not in Heavensward yet ffs. At this rate I'm going to reach lv 60 on my Bard before getting into Ishgard. That's okay, I'm just going to switch to Machinist and level from there. It'll be grand and fun and super slow haha. I hope I at least can get to Stormblood before Endwalker drops? Whatevs. It's fine, I'm having fun, and you bet I will be posting more in the future.
