ceruleanmornings...of NaNoWriMo, that is! Yeppers, people, it's NaNo time again! The actual, official, 50k-in-a-month November one. And I'm doing it again, sort of, this year. I know I like, fail every year, and I say this every year, the success or the "win" is not the point for me; the point is I get to write at a schedule and push myself, at all.
This year I've decided to formalize my lack of ability to write 50k a month, by spreading the goal out to three months. October through December, I will try to write 50k of my aforementioned novella of a fanfic in the previous post. And nothing else. No extra plot bunnies, not even a 100-word drabble. All my effort will be devoted to this, including planning. I will count whatever I've done in October into my November word count. Yes, yes, that may be "cheating", but, uh, this is a personal goal and not an exam, so I can structure it however I want. I sincerely doubt I'll meet the goal by end of November anyway. But somehow, if I do, well, then I should buy myself something nice to celebrate ahaha.
I get so excited about NaNoWriMo anyway even though I don't do much with it. I used to go on all the community stuff when they had write-ins, but lately I've just decided to do my own thing. Maybe I should try to engage more with the community this time around? I don't know. One of these days I'll have the courage to try to join the ChengXian discord too. (I really should but I feel too old and am too asocial to join the newfangled discord thing.) We'll see in a month.
