I'm going to probably start a monthly state of things entry for every month from now on. Not only to keep myself organized and utilize this journal more, but I found that I really, really need a visual, concrete reminder of my goals. Otherwise I'd just...float away and do nothing because my brain would literally forget about what I want. It's sounds crazy, I know, but I think that's just the joy of having ADHD, undiagnosed. Joy.
I have failed my July writing goals spectacularly. Granted, I just started a new medical procedure during that month and it took my body a while to get used to, so my head wasn't quite focused on creative efforts. Still, no excuse right? Well, if one fails just try, try again until one succeeds. New month, new goals, let's see if August will fare better. (It better because, um, if not I really am screwed forever.) I've also decided that I'm going to start handwrite an entry for work every day. There's just something about opening a physical journal and the words staring at you in the face, admonishing you for not meeting your goals. Like the paper is disappointed in me if I don't keep it up haha. Not saying digital isn't more convenient (and faster), but it just doesn't have the same oomph. Also, I'm definitely planning to use this space for more video game and fandom related ramblings, so there's that separation.
Speaking of video games, I have finally, after a full year, finished Persona 5 Royal. 230 hours total (yikes!) and played through many, many sessions after dinner. But yeah, the fact that I actually managed to finish a game of that length is...something worth noting haha. Now I'm playing The Great Ace Attorney, which is easy because there're only a few franchises I could binge through and the Ace Attorney series is one of them. So I'll probably be done with that in a few weeks instead of like, a whole year (plus it's only like, 40 hours or so). I'm just glad I actually finished a game, you know? I don't think I've managed to do that with a full-length RPG in like literally years. Another thing I should work on huh?
I'm also thinking of renewing FF14 subscription soon. I stopped for a while because I just weren't playing it enough, but now I feel like I want to tackle that again. It's a great game regardless, and one of the only MMOs I consistently get hooked on. I will definitely post more about that progress once I restart.
Fandaom-wise July was a giant waste of time because of course, I suck. I joined 007 Fest and got practically NOTHING done. I had all these plans but nope, nothing came to fruition. So sad. Teaches me that I should not join anything because I suck at time management. I really enjoy the fandom too, I just, lurk more than participate nowadays. But no more! Now I'm going to see if I can dedicate the last bit of my work hours to just writing fanfic, every day. Of course if my actual novel writing is going great then I don't write fanfic, but usually it isn't, so. A change of pace is healthy, especially if I do plan to work a lot more than before. Again, I'll let you know how that'll fare out. Yeah...
And I think that's it with my current August plan. Write more, play more, hold myself accountable more. The works. See y'all hopefully sooner than in a month.
