Yeah...it's April, I have been kind of neglecting this journal when I really shouldn't, I should be writing, etc. etc.

Well, I'll have you know that yes, I did join Camp NaNoWriMo for April and I will post about that in another entry shortly. And before you ask, I have been bogged down with some seriously ridiculous illnesses this year so far, but I think this month I may actually be disease-free, at least enough that I feel like a normal person and not be hurting in various places always at any one time.

*sigh*

Anyway, this entry, as you can see by the icon, is going to be about gaming. Specifically, a game called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Yep. That seven-year-old game that's be ported to every platform possible and full of bugs that're never fixed. Also probably one of the greatest games of all time. Why am I talking about it? Well, get this guys, I'm finally playing it!

I saw an announcement of ESVI teaser and they talked about putting a Youtuber known as Skyrim Grandma in it. Curious, I went to check out her channel, watched a video or two, and she is so delightful and awesome and somehow that translated into me wanting to actually play Skyrim, again. I believe I started it like 5 years ago and then just got bored and never went further than Riverwood (for folks not in the know, that is the first town you come across when you begin the game, unless you ignore it and go explore on your own, but most people don't). Now I'm picking it up again - the updated "special edition" - and I feel like I may actually stick to it this time. I'm rolling a stealth archer (can be utterly broken very quickly due to certain bugs) just so I can have it on easy mode and enjoy the world/story. Plus my wood-elf character is pretty bad ass to watch. AND the improved framerate meant I DON'T feel dizzy playing it in first person. All wins, yeah?

I probably won't be putting 500 hours into it, probably. Who knows. I mean my s.o. have put hundreds of hours into the game just messing with mods and making it the most beautiful (and horribly run) game on his PC without playing much of the main quest at all. I love collecting things, crafting things, and exploring places, so there's a good chance I do nothing but that for the first 50 hours, so, yeah...who knows how long I'll be playing this game. The point is that I will make a serious effort to actually finish it, instead of just putting a few hours in and then never picking it back up again. At least that's the plan.
