Well, it's December 24th and I've returned from a week of vacationing in Mexico. It was fun, but not wholly relaxing. Being surrounded by people 24/7 really isn't my cup of tea for relaxation, even though it's very exciting. But all is not lost! I was on a cruise, after all, so at night when the moon's out and the only sound was the splashing waves from the ship it was very, very peaceful. I did relax a bit then. I think the idea of staring into an abyss invoke some sort of calmness in me, unlike with most other people. My mind just empties out, and I worry about nothing for a while.

Nice and poetic, eh? Well, now I'm going to talk about not quite so poetic and hell of a lot more nerdy stuff. Behold: this entry's icon! I want icons to correspond with my entry topics (rather than my mood or whatever) and thought a stylized Q cup is a broad and subtle way to signal 00Q. (Yes, I realize the 00 part is entirely missing but, general topic y'all!) I'll have to scrounge for icons for other topics later. Ha, never thought I'd go back to tailoring LJ-esque icons again. Time does go in a circle.

Anyways, I found out something interesting about Q's cup. So apparently, the specific font that's on this particular Scrabble mug is UK only. Which means the only way for me, someone on the US soil, to get this specific cup is to either go to the UK, or make someone who's gone to the UK to buy it and bring it for me, because there's no other way to get it. Amazon does not sell the cup with this font to the US, and no UK ebay people will ship to the US either. So...yeah.... I guess I'll just have to live with the digitized version of it. It's not like I don't have enough mugs anyway. But I don't understand why Scrabble has to differentiate fonts by country. Font Trademark issues? Just to be difficult? Weird.
