Ah, yes, my undying love for FF14 and then immediately regret playing it again because it predictably took over my life. I quite playing two years ago because I literally did nothing else aside from eat, sleep, and work . A black hole of a time sink, although an immensely enjoyable one. Well, guess what? I started it again during quarantine last year. No going out to restaurants, or movies, or concerts, or any traveling. Might as well grind some MMO, ne?
So I started a new character because I'm an altoholic, and I want to try new things. My main is going to be ranged physical dps this time, because I'm sick of all the traps of being melee and ranged magic user as main is just....boring, although I loved my cute little Keeper of the Moon black mage. I rolled a Wildwood Elezen archer/bard, and as soon as I get myself out to Ishgard I will probably re-roll as a Machinist, and then eventually a Dancer, if I like the class. I also picked up a second class of Summoner, which is what my icon signifies (I joined the Maelstrom GC so that's what the border is). I wanted an Elezen Machinist or Dancer picture but couldn't find one, so Summoner it is. Maybe I'll pick up an Astrologian if I'm really, really bored in endgame, but I doubt it. DPS is really my one true jam. Ah, just talking about the game makes me relaxed, which I'm grateful for.
I'm slowly, slowly playing my way through the game. I never thought chopping trees in Eorzea an hour before bed would make me super calm, but apparently the repetitive nature really works out stress, and I want to start 2021 off with good, happy habits. It's why I blocked reddit from my computer altogether, and why I'm only playing super "boring" and "grindy" games so far. It's strangely beneficial to my mental health. Also since I said I'll try to post more, this game and what I'm doing in it will be a regular topic. Not just for content, mind you, but in general it simply makes me happy.
